Be Clean, Be Healthy: Empowering Communities Through Health and Hygiene
At BOPPL, we believe that strong communities are built on a foundation of good health, awareness and shared responsibility. In 2025, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Be Clean, Be Healthy,” brought this belief to life across schools and communities within our project areas.

Driving Change Where It Matters Most
The program was successfully carried out in 4 schools—Sumomini Primary School, Imbio Elementary School, Bewani Primary School and Isi-Daru Elementary School; reaching over 1,000 students and 30 educators through health education and practical activities, creating a meaningful and lasting impact.

Building Healthy Habits for the Future
The “Be Clean, Be Healthy” program promoted practical and sustainable hygiene habits through interactive workshops on handwashing, personal hygiene, nutrition, healthy lifestyles and basic mental health awareness. A key highlight was the live demonstration of the 7 Steps of Handwashing, which led to a 30% improvement in proper hygiene practices among students.

Creating Cleaner and Safer Learning Environments
Beyond education, the initiative brought together BOPPL employees, teachers, students and community members for a school clean-up drive that improved classrooms, school grounds, sanitation and safety. Their combined efforts removed approximately 150 kilograms of waste, creating a cleaner and safer learning environment.

Extending Impact Beyond Schools
Recognizing the need for community-wide involvement, the program extended beyond schools to community groups, youth ministries, churches, mission stations, orphanages and technical institutions. More than 1,800 hygiene kits were distributed to schools, communities and BOPPL employees, strengthening health awareness at all levels.

A Measurable Difference
The program achieved strong results, with 95% of students reporting they felt happier and safer, while improved hygiene practices are expected to reduce illness and absenteeism and increase awareness of health, sanitation and environmental responsibility.

Our Commitment
“Be Clean, Be Healthy” is more than a campaign- it is a commitment to empowering communities with the knowledge and tools they need to lead healthier lives. By working together with schools, communities and our employees, we are not only improving environments – we are shaping a healthier future for the next generation.
